2009 Exchange Place teller, Ellouise Schoettler, rang in the new year with a blog.
A storyteller for nearly 20 years, Schoettler has been fortunate to have many of her performances recorded. She has also been the host of two local public access cable TV programs, providing her with even more recorded material. Instead of letting her recordings sit in an archive, she has decided to give them a new home via a blog.
Since 2005 Schoettler has been using her blog as a place to share her stories, tips on storytelling, and pretty much anything else in her life as she sees fit. For the past two years it seems she has decided to share almost everything, having close to as many posts as there are days in a year. The introduction of her weekend video story series seems like a natural progression.
“Writing in My Book,” the latest story in Schoettler’s series, chronicles how a book and a day at the hair salon remind her of an old childhood memory.
Since January 1 Schoettler has posted four stories in the series including “Handmade,” “Air Vigilante,” “The Wedding Dress,” and “Writing in My Book”. A new addition to her weekend video story series will be added each Friday and will available for two weeks.
